Walk to Paris from Huddersfield - Saturday 5th December
20 November 2015
The aim of the walk to Paris (a hamlet near Scholes, Holmfirth) is to highlight the gulf between the carbon reductions indicated by national governments around the world, for the Paris (France) COP 21 Climate Talks in December, and those reductions that are needed to avoid catastrophic climate change.
The carbon savings identified will only limit us to a global temperature increase of 2.7 degrees. To avoid the worst impacts we need to limit temperature rises to an average of 2 degrees or less.
Join Cllr Andrew Cooper on the walk at Huddersfield railway station - 09.45 for 10.00 start - or along the route.
